Day 1: Marrakech ⇢ Atlas mountains ⇢ Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou ⇢ Dades Valley
The Marrakech to Fes desert tour three days begins with a pick up from your hotel, riad, or other location in Marrakech at around 8:00 AM. Leave the city and travel southeast into the High Atlas mountains, stopping at some panoramic viewpoints along the way to take pictures and take in the spectacular views of traditional Berber settlements. The ancient and ominous Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah is located in the village of Ait Ben Haddou, where you should pause for lunch.
Since 1987, the Kasbah, or better yet, the “fortified settlement,” has been protected by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Lawrence of Arabia, Babel, and Gladiator were all filmed there, among many more well-known films. During a brief drive to Ouarzazate, you’ll stop to see the largest studio in Africa; a visit inside is optional. then on to Boumalne, passing by the Valley of Roses. You have the option of visiting the rock formations in Dades Valley, often known as the “monkey fingers,” the day after you stay there.
Day 2: Boumalne ⇢ Tinghir Oasis ⇢ Todgha Canyon ⇢ Merzouga
After a delectable breakfast, we’ll drive to Tinghir and halt at a stunning viewpoint to take in the amazing oasis with its many kasbahs and palm palms. You’ll have the chance to traverse the Todgha River’s huge canyon, which was carved out by the canyon. It is 300 meters deep in the gorge.
Your stuff will be delivered to your camp in a 4×4 vehicle once we reach Merzouga while you embark on a camel journey. See the Erg Chebbi as a magnificent crimson and orange sunset. Playing drums, telling stories, and gazing up at the night sky in the Sahara desert with natives will be an amazing experience.
Day 3: Merzouga ⇢ Ziz Valley ⇢ Middle Atlas ⇢ Ifrane ⇢ Fes
This morning peaceful and stunning dawn is the result of an early start. You have a choice of leaving the camp by 4×4 car or camel trekking back after a delectable breakfast in the camp. Driving to Fez, depart Merzouga. You’ll stop en route for a panoramic view of the Ziz Valley, which is dotted with settlements and is covered in palm palms.
One of the rare species that can survive in a cold climate is the Barbary Ape, which you may encounter in the Middle Atlas’s Cedar forest. Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Morocco, is a good place to stop for a breather and a coffee. The Marrakech to Fez desert excursion will come to an end in the late evening at your resort in Fez.
