Morocco Desert Tour of 2 Days
Day 1: Fes ⇢ Ifrane⇢ Merzouga Desert
You are picked up from your riad in Fes to begin your two-day adventure over the desert to Marrakech. Then make your way to Merzouga in the Sahara desert. Your first stop will be Ifrane, which is also referred to as the Switzerland of Morocco due to its chilly climate. The Middle Atlas Mountains will thereafter be crossed. You’ll make a pit break to view some Barbary monkeys in a cedar forest beside the road.
We’ll stop for lunch somewhere along the road. After that, you’ll drive through the Ziz Valley (an oasis full of palm trees). To see this oasis, you will pause at a panoramic viewpoint.
The desert will be reached in the late afternoon. To transport you across the sand dunes to your luxurious camp, your camels will be waiting. Also, you will observe the sunset from a high dune. The staff will escort you to your personal tent at the campsite so you can unwind and take a shower. The group will start a bonfire after a sumptuous meal. After that, have a seat and take in the scenery as the Berbers drum and sing.
Day 2: Merzouga ⇢ Ait Ben Haddou ⇢ High Atlas Mountains ⇢ Marrakech
Today, if you want to see a peaceful sunrise, getting up early is advised. After a delectable breakfast, you will depart the camp in a 4×4 and go to Merzouga. the long trek to Marrakech can then begin. During the trip, you will stop at a few locations.
You will pause in Ait Benhaddou to take in a panoramic vista of Morocco’s most well-known Kasbah. The fortified settlement has appeared in numerous well-known films and TV shows. The Kasbah, for instance, was a setting for the Mummy, Prince of Persia, and Game of Thrones. Since 1987, the historic village has been designated by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
