Day 1: Marrakech ⇢ Atlas mountains ⇢ Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou ⇢ Dades Valley
Your three-day Marrakech desert tour will begin with a pick-up from your riad or another location in Marrakesh at 8:00 am. Soon after leaving the city, you’ll travel through the High Atlas mountain scenery via the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, which rises 2260 meters (7415 feet) above sea level. Several stops will be made along the journey so you may view some lovely Berber communities.
Arrive in the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified settlement that is regarded as a superb illustration of Moroccan architecture. The Kasbah has been included as a setting in a number of well-known films made in Morocco, including “Kingdom of Heaven” in 2005, “Babel” in 2006, “Prince of Persia” in 2010, “Game of Thrones” in 2012, and the most recent, “David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet” in 2020. If we still have time upon our nighttime arrival at the Gorges, we’ll drive the magnificent rock formations (AKA the monkey fingers), otherwise! The next day, we’ll go there. Dinner and a hotel room for the night.
Day 2: Dades valley ⇢ Tinghir ⇢ Todgha gorge ⇢ Merzouga
The second day of your 3 day Morocco desert tour will start with a sumptuous breakfast. After that, we’ll drive to Tineghir, where we’ll stop for a panoramic view overlooking quaint Berber settlements and a lush oasis dotted with palm trees. We’ll take a trip underneath this deep Canyon, which is located not far from here and is known as Toudgha Gorge. It is 300 meters high.
When we get to Merzouga later in the afternoon, you’ll go camel trekking across the Erg Chebbi dunes. You’ll pause at a high dune during the trip to take in a breathtaking dusk over Erg Chebbi’s golden dunes. Next proceed on the camel to your camp, where you will be welcomed with a cup of tea. Have some downtime after that. After a sumptuous Moroccan meal, you’ll gather around a campfire to listen to Berbers play drums and tell tales as the stars shine brightly overhead. Spend the night in your personal tent.
Day 3: Merzouga ⇢ Draa Valley ⇢ Ouarzazate ⇢ Marrakech
The best time to see a beautiful sunrise today is from the nearest high dune, so get up early. You can choose to leave the camp using camels or a 4×4 after a delectable breakfast. back to Marrakech by car. nonetheless, this time via the longest Moroccan valley, the Valley of Agdez (1100 kilometers).
You are free to request a stop at any time from your driver. You’ll have a photo stop in front of the renowned “Taourirt Kasbah” once we get to Ouarzazate.
